ABOUT US

Valcerasa comes from passion. The passion of Alice and Rosario for wine and the land.

It all started in a small family vineyard in the Piedimonte Etna area, about 800 meters above sea level, in the Val Cerasa “cherry valley” district.

In 2000, they embarked on a new adventure, deciding to purchase a new piece of land located in the Contrada Croce Monaci in Randazzo, laying the foundations for what is now the Valcerasa Winery.

Our land, our winery, and our philosophy

Mount Etna is certainly an island within an island.

Its altitude, diverse exposures, and climate highlight and at times amplify the contrasts of Sicily and its inhabitants. Prolonged and scorching summers featuring substantial temperature fluctuations between day and night, severe winters, and millennia of expertise in grape cultivation converge to yield absolutely distinctive and irreplicable outcomes on Mount Etna.

In this scenario, on the north side of Mount Etna lies the vineyards of the Valcerasa.

The company’s land is located in the municipality of Randazzo, ranging in altitude from 700 to 900 meters above sea level, for a total area of about 20 hectares.

The philosophy followed in managing the company is to follow nature to always achieve the best. The vines are grown in the “alberello” method, organic farming practices are used, and the hard work of the people demonstrates respect for tradition and a commitment to progress without upheaval.
